Biometric Device FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions about hardware support and configuration.

All standalone ZKTeco fingerprint, RFID, and facial recognition devices are supported. This includes devices that support ADMS Cloud Push (like K40, UA300, MB20, and iClock series) and traditional LAN network connections (TCP/IP pull).

ADMS is a cloud-push communication protocol natively built into ZKTeco devices. By pointing your device's ADMS server setting to your web server domain, the device pushes employee punches in real-time. The script implements this protocol listening at /iclock/cdata without requiring any local companion tools.

When employees select states on the device keyboard before placing their finger (e.g. Break Out, Break In, OT In, OT Out), ZKTeco writes specific state values (2, 3, 4, 5). The script parses these punch types and automatically logs them into corresponding columns in the daily attendance record.

Yes! If your device is located in the same LAN and does not support ADMS cloud push, you can add it as a TCP/IP device. The system can connect over port 4370 and pull punches on-demand or via a cron schedule.
